Case studies update
This Saturday there will be a case study presentation @ 11am:
Michael Porter on realising return on investment for IT projects. Michael has been a consultant for 20 years for many of the top business consultancy firms in the US and Ireland.
There will be no afternoon seminar.
You should also consider attending the Drupal event that the school is hosting on 15th November and the Microsoft Embedded world tour which the school is hosting on Friday 28 November. You are also welcome to attend either of the game design workshops on 22 November and 6th December. There will be case studies seminars on 6th December also:
Declan O'Sullivan (TCD) - Autonomics
John Hoey (Norkom) - Knowledge Management
For your first assignment please write a short paper as per the guidelines on the course website on either:
1. How to get an MSc/Introduction to research methods/What is research?
If you have already started a report on one of the other case studies topics, please submit that.
I've set up case studies assignments in webcourses.dit.ie. Your first assignment is due on
November 22nd

The Monday, November 3rd class of Databases and Information
Systems will begin at 6:30 as opposed to the regular 7:30 start,
and will be three hours as opposed to the usual two hours.

Internet systems class cancelled tonight
Tonights Internet systems class is cancelled as I haven't stopped sneezing since I woke up this morning :-( Classes resume next week. Please have a go at the XHTML tables, forms and frames examples and have a look at the course note on those topics.
